The Palau de la Musica Catalana is one of the world's leading concert halls. Considered to be one of Modernism's chief exponents, it was built by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner between 1905 and 1908. In 1997 it was declared a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO.

The new building projected by Oscar Tusquets Blanca annexed to the Palau includes a new restaurant with viewpoint and elevated terrace directed by the famous chef Jean Luc Figueras. In this building Tusquets has used the same red brick tone that the original one of the historical facade, although marking differences clearly between new and the old building.

Tusquets has placed in the limit of this building seven Macaedis' FÉMINA planters made in Macael red Travertino marble, which they are integrated harmoniously in the square, allowing to endow the eye with new and suggestive perspective.
